We Believe

Developing a medicine takes a village.

Brilliant science takes focus, diligence, creativity, and a great idea. What comes next draws on many more hands than any one lab holds.

Translating science into medicine demands a scale that research labs can’t provide. We take only science we believe is exceptional, and when we do, your work joins an ecosystem built to take it to patients fast.

How We Work

We develop protein-based medicines, well and fast.

We take a molecule with in-vivo/ex-vivo proof of concept, and drive it rapidly to clinical proof of concept.

Output

A package ready for the clinic, ready to become a medicine

Compound

Reinforcement learning happens at an operational level, with outcomes and data feeding back into one system. Every program's results inform the next augmenting the scale of the engine to compound translational work across programs.

Recapitulate within our own lab

Our 500 m² BSL-2 facility closes the loop between design and data, allowing a fast iteration of protein production,  and functional assays with cell-lines and primary tissue. Cycle after cycle, from developability into IND-enabling work.

We derive the optimal first patient population and predict biomarkers based on our proprietary mechanistic models, to guide protein design and improve the success probability of the first clinical proof.

Define the right patient
population mechanistically
Design de novo — Generative protein design

Our own generative tools, alongside open frameworks like BoltzGen, rank thousands of de novo binders against those specs. Affinity, valency and linker geometry get optimised in weeks.

Model early – QSP digital twins

As we optimize the molecule for the clinic, our quantitative systems-pharmacology twins simulate it against a virtual model of the target organ and disease to define specs (like the affinity ratios a multi-specific needs) up front.

Our focus

Our biologics-focused pipeline moves rapidly in the indications that need it.

We only in-license multifunctional biologics. Bispecifics, engagers, degraders, enzyme-linked proteins against high unmet need.

Programs that we’ve brought into our engine include:

Co-founder & Co-CEO

Alexander Belcredi is a biotech entrepreneur and angel investor with over 15 years in pharma. In 2017 he co-founded PhagoMed, developing phage-based therapies for drug-resistant infections, and led the company as Co-CEO from founding through its acquisition by BioNTech in 2021. He then co-led BioNTech's R&D hub in Austria, advancing antibacterial programs at the intersection of microbiology, generative AI and mRNA technology. Alexander is now Co-Founder & CEO of Sameric Bio, translating promising academic biology into clinical proof-of-concept. He also mentors scientists and founders via Creative Destruction Lab, invests through LANA Ventures, and holds an MA from St Andrews and an MBA from INSEAD after nine years at BCG.

Lorenzo Corsini is a biotech entrepreneur and structural biologist with a PhD in molecular and structural biology from EMBL Heidelberg. In 2017, he co-founded PhagoMed, developing phage- and lysin-based therapies for drug-resistant infections; he built the company's foundational patent estate and originated the RiboLysin concept - combining engineered lysins with mRNA delivery - that became a core BioNTech discovery platform. He led PhagoMed through its acquisition by BioNTech in 2021, then became Managing Director of BioNTech's R&D hub in Austria, overseeing its antibacterial pipeline and platform development. Lorenzo is now Co-Founder & CEO of Sameric Bio, alongside board roles at Equatic, Vienna BioCenter, and LANA Ventures. He spent nine years as a Partner at Boston Consulting Group.

Dr. Adriana Badarau
Co-founder & Chief Scientific Officer
Adriana Badarau
Co-Founder & CSO

Adriana Badarau is a drug discovery scientist with more than 15 years turning biology into medicines. At Arsanis Biosciences, she led antibody discovery and protein analytics, advancing four programs to preclinical development, two of which reached Phase 2 trials. At X4 Pharmaceuticals, she led discovery of genotype-phenotype correlations that enabled the approval of Mavorixafor (XOLREMDI). She then joined BioNTech's R&D hub in Austria as Senior Director Discovery, where she led the RiboLysin platform - fusing AI-guided and rational protein engineering with wet-lab and mRNA-delivery validation to turn engineered lysins into a new antibacterial modality - building the in-silico LysinBuilder engine and leading a team of 20 scientists from early discovery through preclinical stage. Adriana is now Co-Founder & CSO of Sameric Bio, holding a PhD in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Huddersfield.
